These are the teachers for 2010 Junior Davey Junior is a five times All-Ireland bodhran champion and is teaching at Craiceann for the fifth year. He also teaches regularly at the South Sligo Summer School in Tubbercurry and at the Summer School in Drumshamboo in Co. Leitrim. His second album called "Sound Skin", shows his great abilities. Fitzgerald and M. Rooney |  | Jim Higgins Jim Higgins plays a variety of instruments, including all kinds of percussion, piano and trumpet. His bodhran playing is full of baselines and very supportive for the tunes. No wonder he is in high demand as a live and studio artist. He is featured on the recent Altan and Lunasa recordings and many other studio albums, incl. Cora and Jim's wife Breda Smyth, Kevin Crawford, Alan Kelly and Josephine Marsh. He also toured with the famous dance show "Riverdance". He works as an arranger and producer and produced albums for the Sawdoctors and Reeltime. Jim made his first appearance at Craiceann in 2001 and returned in 2005, when his brilliant classes were much appreciated. That's why he is back again..... He has toured the US, Canada, Europe, the Middle East, Asia and Australia to play with Téada and to teach at workshops all over the world. Tristan's bodhrán playing encompasses a distinctive musical
sensitivity, evident on a number of recordings with which he
has had involvement in recent years. Here are is a video of Tristan's playing with Téada. We are very pleased to welcome Tristan for the first time at Craiceann. Rooney |  | Siobhan O'Donnell Siobhán being from Sligo was infuenced heavily by the energetic and bouncing rhythm found in Sligo music, reflecting this on her mastery and knowledge of tunes in her playing, Siobháns love for singing in English and Irish and lilting has been passed on in her family for generations, hailing from a well known traditional singing background. Siobhán has won multiple All-Ireland titles in the bodhrán, singing and lilting. She is a regular teacher at Summer Schools in Tubbercurry and Keadue. Siobhán is a member of the highly acclaimed “The Border Collies”, along with her father Colm, and the newly formed band "Cruinniú". She has traveled throughout the USA, UK and Europe with the Ceolárus Coleman Sesiún Group in Gurteen. since the age of four, Cormac developed a love for
the bodhran and traditional music while studying at
the Royal Northern College of Music in Manchester.
In 2002 he formed folk
band Uiscedwr with fiddle player Anna Esslemont. The
following year they won the BBC Young Folk Award. Cormac
has also worked with several other bands including
the Seth Lakeman band, Danish based Baltic Crossing,
Jez Lowe, Andrew Dinan and the RTE Concert Orchestra.
He currently teaches Bodhran and Percussion at Newcastle
University as part of the Folk Music Degree Course,
and is a visiting tutor to Farncombe Estate Education

He teaches all over Germany and is a member of the highly praised trad irish bands Cara and Steampacket. He has played allover Europe incl. Ireland and with Cara he also toured in the US in 2007, 2008 and 2009, headlining festivals
like the Milwaukee Irish Fest and Kansas City Irish fest. His teaching skills were shaped lecturing at the University of Hannover as his daytime job. Together with drummaker Christian Hedwitschak he developed his own drum line which can be found at his webpage. | | | Stiofán O'Broin Stiofan is not only one of Ireland's best young bodhran players, but also an excellent bones player. His style is full of energy and he incorporates many elements of double sticking and top end style.
